Marc Roca, transferred to Bayern Munich
The midfielder will start a new professional chapter in the German team
RCD Espanyol and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marc Roca to the current champion of the Champions League and the German Bundesliga. The Catalan midfielder thus puts an end to his 12 years with Espanyol to start a new professional adventure in Germany as the current European champion.
Marc Roca, who came to the club as an under 13, made his debut with the blue and white first team on August 26, 2016 under the guidance of trainer Quique Sánchez Flores. With Rubi on the bench he was one of the team's leaders and one of the architects of its qualification for the UEFA Europa League. European champion with the Spanish Under-21 team, the blue and white midfielder has played 121 official matches with Espanyol in which he has scored three goals, being the first player to wear number 21 since our captain Dani Jarque. This is what he said at the time: "It is an honour to wear number 21. I will defend this number with the love for Espanyol and for football that our eternal captain Dani Jarque always demonstrated. It will be a tribute from the entire squad to Dani, who was and is a benchmark for us, as we all admire him."
Marc Roca has been an example of effort and improvement during these years, being one of the youngest players to exceed 100 games as a parakeet.
RCD Espanyol would like to thank him for his effort, dedication, commitment and involvement, and wishes him every success in this new chapter, both personally and professionally.
Good luck Marc, Espanyol will always be your home.
