Mario Hermoso has received with contained joy his inclusion in the call of the Spanish National team. The defender has been "happy" because it seems "a great news" to get "one of the highest levels to which any athlete aspires" and the only thing he expects is to "have more Espanyol players" in the next lists.
He said that he has received the congratulations from "Rubi, who has asked me to continue doing the same and believing in our work" and "from my teammates, who are proud, but now we are also thinking about Sunday's game at Sevilla to try to win and continue up. What we want is to keep growing and doing things well".
He said and repeats several times that one of his characteristics is "to be very ambitious. I have always believed in my possibilities and Espanyol has given me the opportunity to be in the First Division. I always thought that that was the best thing for me and the football that Rubi defends is clear that it benefits me".
He reveals that, when he arrived at Espanyol, "I was a person unknown to the people, to the fans, but my mentality has never changed. I never considered coming here to spend time. I came with the mentality of making a place for myself". And in that line, he has revealed that David López "is one of the people who has helped me the most. It has corrected me. He has oriented me tactically and positionally. We have a very good personal relationship and we talked a lot before, during and after the matches”.
He insists that he is oblivious to all the rumors that put him back in the orbit of R. Madrid and assures that "I am happy here. The season is enviable and we have an exceptional group. The rest is something that does not cross my mind ".
