Espanyol's latest signing is presented to the media
Dani Gómez was officially presented as a new RCD Espanyol player on Monday afternoon. The striker, who comes in on loan from Levante UD, spoke of his excitement about the season and his ambitions for the campaign.
He commented that when he heard of RCD Espanyol's interest he was immediately convinced.
“It was clear to me that this is a great club, with an exciting project, and I hope to live up to what is expected of me. I identify a lot with the values of this club and I am prepared to do whatever the coach asks of me," he told the media.
"This is an important and exciting challenge. I am going to be able to continue growing as a player. I am here to reach the top, to fight for a place in the team, but above all I want to highlight the work of the team. I have come here to help Espanyol. I know there's a lot of competition for places here, but that's healthy and raises the level of the squad."
During the presentation ceremony, the club's CEO, Mao Ye, welcomed Gómez and showed his confidence in him, stating that "He will improve the team and I hope that he can enjoy playing for RCD Espanyol."
Sporting Director, Domingo Catoira, explained that the Spaniard “is a forward with mobility and versatility. We are very interested in his dynamism and the aggressiveness that he shows in the area. He is young, with ambition and a great mentality.”
