Catala: "It was an immense joy to start"

The defender talks about his unofficial debut

La21 player José Luis Catalá was one of those chosen by Manolo González as a starter in last Saturday's preseason match against Girona. The centre back reflected on having made his unofficial debut for the first team.

“I'm very happy. It was an immense joy. I got nervous when I saw that I was starting, but when I came onto the pitch, my teammates and the coach gave me peace of mind and confidence.”

Catalá added that: “I'm feeling very good. We're assimilating what the coach is asking of us and we'll continue training hard. We're already thinking about this week's friendly matches.”

The defender arrived at La21 in 2019 to form part of the Juvenil B, and last season he played under González at Espanyol B.
