“I liked the team’s persistence”
Vicente Moreno highlighted that it was important to win, in order to tackle the remainder of the season
RCD Espanyol manager, Vicente Moreno, said that he liked the team’s persistence, and highlighted that it was a very important victory for tackling the remainder of the season. “We had a difficult match like I said in the preview. We found it hard at first to find spaces, we weren’t comfortable and we had the accidental action of the penalty. The match became very complicated, but I liked the team’s persistence and the players knew they had to be patient for the equaliser. It didn’t take us long to come back into the match and we were quick to score our third goal: we have to be satisfied because it was a complicated match, and it was very important to win, in order to tackle the remainder of the season.”
Vicente acknowledged that “we had a bit of a difficult time at the start of the match. We weren’t so fluid as in previous matches and it took us a little to get into it. There is always room for improvement. We were mainly concerned about picking up the three points. Now it’s time to think about the match versus Fuenlabrada.”
