"We want to be strong at home and win this type of matches"
Jurado believes that Espanyol has evolved since the first round, but warns that Sevilla is a powerful rival
Consolidated in the starting line-up, José Manuel Jurado is one of the most prominent players in the team in recent matches. The midfielder born in Cadiz is one of the players called to lead the squad of Quique Sánchez Flores in any of the positions of the midfield. "I like to play where the team wins, play well and we are all happy", he said.
This Sunday Espanyol awaits a complicated test against Sevilla, who in the match of the first round thrashed 6-4 the espanyolistas. "Let's try to get the three points, give a joy to the fans and us even though we know it's going to be hard. It's a difficult match against a big one that comes in a big streak. We want to be strong and win these kinds of matches. Sevilla is a great team, very difficult to defeat and has been proving in recent years that has made a name in Europe. It's been a long time from the first round match and we've changed. The team is more compact, receives lesser goals and we usually play better. Teams often change from the start of the championship". The player said that "we have to make a very complete match on all lines. They will demand us, because it is a team with high quality players".
A key aspect is to try to maintain the good level of game offered against Granada. "It was a good match for us, to see that we are capable of playing at that level. It can turn out better or worse, but it was a game to catch confidence with a view to Sunday that will be very difficult". In this sense, Jurado said that the team can grow from tranquility: "We players are ambitious and we like to look upwards. Our intention is to face each match to achieve the three points and we hope that the second round is better than the first".
