"We are getting a stronger team mentality"
Quique remarks that "when you do things right, the results are usually got"
Quique Sánchez Flores, like the whole squad, could not hide his satisfaction with the three points scored in Vitoria: "It was a very difficult game, it is hard to play against Alavés. We have held the first few minutes, we are maturing, growing and improving on many things. When you do things right, the results are usually got".
The white-and-blue coach wanted to highlight the psychological evolution of the group over these months: "We are getting a stronger team mentality, we have to be committed, supportive, and very competitive because the rivals are good". Sánchez Flores was very proud of the resilience the players showed: "I have loved the reaction of the team after the penalty, the rebelliousness to score yes or yes", although he was also analised the tactical behavior of the squad: “We are more balanced, we have more the ball, we play with more pause. The team has been able to adapt to the different situations proposed by opponents".
After Marc Roca and Aaron Martin, this morning has been the turn for Oscar Melendo. The coach spoke of the midfielder's debut: "They are boys who knock on the door and show that they are ready. Espanyol has a great youth academy and we see young players with ambition and desire. It is a blessing to be with us".
