Vilhena: "We've shown that we can play good football and win games"
The Dutchman talks to RCD Espanyol TV
Tonny Vilhena was RCD Espanyol's only reinforcement in the winter transfer market, and in just over a month at the RCDE Stadium he has shown indications of his quality. He was one of the protagonists of last Saturday's victory against Getafe, and is aspiring to more.
"Of course, everyone is happy; the players, the staff, the medical staff, the fans... All of the 'Espanyolismo' is happy; It was important to win that match," he said of the triumph that was the team's first of 2022.
"I think the victory was very important. It was also a reaction from us; we showed that we can play good football and win games. That was something important for us."
As for his own contribution to the win, Vilhena commented that "Everyone has to be important in the team, not just me. I try to help the team as much as possible."
"I feel very good here. I feel very happy and my family do too. That's the most important thing and I really appreciate the time I'm spending here."
Up next is a trip to the Ciutat de Valencià, where RCD Espanyol meet Levante on Laliga Matchday 28.
"As I said before: Every match is like a final for us. Levante are playing at home in this match and will want to win; but we are also going to go there to win. I'm sure it will be a good game."
He also set aside words of praise for the fans, who have taken to the loan signing.
"The atmosphere is fantastic. You see how united they are with us, that they are always there to support the team. They are like that if we lose, if we win or if we draw. The atmosphere is amazing and the fans are fantastic."
