Álvaro Vázquez and Diego López thanked Espanyol for the opportunity
Álvaro Vázquez and Diego López were the last two signings of Espanyol for this season. The two players have thanked the opportunity and said that they are very excited with this new challenge. “We knew what kind of players we wanted. It is an honour to count a player like Diego López ant to have back Álvaro after a few seasons”, he said.
“I went to Getafe but things didn’t turn out as I thought. I have learnt and maturated a lot and I think it will be good for the team. I come here to give it all and will try to do my best in the practice and the matches. I am going to fight every day”, he said. Álvaro said that Espanyol is “the team of my heart. I made the debut in the First Division with Espanyol, I scored here; I had it clear. This project invites you to come”.
“I don’t know if it is the most important goal in my career, but I do think I have to enjoy this moment and that I am going to do my best”, he said.
In the other hand, Diego López said that after a difficult season in Milan he decided to accept a new challenge. “It is a great opportunity. I come back to Spain to a great club to help in the field and in the changing room. I have always played with great goalkeepers and competitive is good for the team”, he said.
“I have sign for Espanyol to try to play; I am not on holidays. I am going to try to be in the first eleven, help the team and try to add all my experience”. Diego López has also remembered when he played in our Stadium with his former clubs. “I liked to come here because it is a great Stadium and the supporters are great. I had good performances and I hope I can keep that level. I feel very well, I have taken care of myself, I have healthy habits and the ambition I had when I started. I haven’t lost anything of that”.
