"The group believes"
Luis Miguel Ramis keeps the faith after a momentous win over SD Eibar in the promotion battle
RCD Espanyol men’s first team coach Luis Miguel Ramis praised his team for their comeback win against SD Eibar on Saturday.
The Mágico snatched it in stoppage time to secure a 3-2 victory at Ipurúa, moving them ahead of their opponents and into the automatic promotion spots.
Ramis said, “The players pushed and did it, we got that reward. The substitutions obviously contributed a lot, and the penalty got us back into the game. We knew that if we took the game to their area we could score a goal. There is a group that does believe, the group believes and that has happened”
The key changes were Salvi Sánchez and José Carlos Lazo coming on to add fresh legs out wide, and it would pay off as they both scored in the final minutes of the game to take the three points back to Barcelona.
Ramis continued, “We knew we were taking a risk, but with Salvi and Lazo on the wings we could create danger, and they did brilliantly. We were very poor with the ball and very afraid at the beginning. We needed more prominence with the ball and we had, and we leave happy”.
