S. Gómez: “You have to make the most of it”
The co-captain points out the continuous need to reduce errors
Sergi Gómez spoke at a press conference from RCD Espanyol’s training camp on Wednesday.
The first team travelled to Murcia at the start of the week for the off-season training stage, as they prepare for the first of two friendlies. Gómez, one of the team’s captains, took the opportunity to explain the current situation.
He said, “The current feelings are unbeatable, because we are in a very suitable place to continue working on the concepts that we want to improve and perfect. There is a very good atmosphere and desire to do great things. The key is to make the most of the time to improve things and improve the team.”
Espanyol are in action on Saturday when they face Torino, continuing their preparation to resume the season in under two weeks. “It is important to be all together,” Gómez commented, “working constantly is a positive thing, we are in an unbeatable environment.”
Speaking on the team’s current state in LaLiga, he said, “It is the situation we have, and it is up to us to turn it around and continue to believe in what we do well. We have shown that we can do things well and we just need to reduce errors.”
Gómez concluded, “We know that at specific moments we have had actions that have harmed us greatly and it is time to promote the good.”
