Romero: "We're understanding what the coach wants"
The new signing talks after his first preseason minutes
Carlos Romero is one of the new faces at RCD Espanyol for 2024/25. The left back enjoyed his first minutes against Girona FC and was very happy with the team's attitude in the behind-closed-doors friendly.
“We're coming off a week of hard work. We've all made a great effort, we're understanding what the coach wants and we competed well against a Girona side much further along with their preseason," he explained after the match.
"The game helped us to get into our rhythm and get a feel for things. Although we have to adjust things, we're assimilating the ideas and the work is good."
He also commented that “the squad is working very well. It's noticeable that we lack that edge that the teams with more of a preseason under their belts have, but I'm sure we're going to get it. The objective is not only to win but to get to the game against Real Valladolid in shape and take the three points.”
Finally, he explained that the team's attitude is very positive.
“If we all work together, everything will be easier this year,” he concluded.
