RCDE Academy makes international debut
A player from the RCDE Academy has been called up for their national team for the first time
For the first time ever, the Club’s RCDE Academy will be represented in international football with an academy player called up for their national team.
Tarmo Kuusniemi of the RCDE Academy Helsinki has been selected for the Finland under-15s national team, where he will play in the Football Federations Cup in Alicante. The player, born in 2009, will face Spain, Mexico and Saudi Arabia in the tournament.
RCD Espanyol has been working on its international projects since 2014, opening academies across the world to teach the Espanyol way both through methodology and values. This is the first time a player from the Club’s international academy system has been called up for a national team, a testament to the hard work of coaches, staff and players.
Congratulations, Tarmo!
