Dolors Ribalta invited to Brasil by the FPF Academia
Brazilian women's football clubs want to learn from the success of RCD Espanyol
Last week, RCD Espanyol's Director of Women's Football, Dolors Ribalta, participated in the Women's Football Summit, held in Brazil and organised by the Paulista Football Federation. Women's football was the summit's central theme and RCD Espanyol were the only Liga F club represented at this meeting.
Dr. Ribalta took part in a round table discussion on the importance of having an agreed international calendar for women's football, something that is increasingly necessary in a sport in which the presence of international players is increasingly widespread. RCD Espanyol have several internationals in their women's first team squad.
She presented the particular case of the women's football section at the club, and the first team's promotion to the first division of Spanish football last season. Emphasis was put on giving long-term stability to women's football through La21, as grassroots football is both a personal and professional experience for all players.
This past October, RCD Espanyol hosted the Paulista Football Federation on their visit to Barcelona.
