RCD Espanyol lands in Melbourne with its first Academy in Australia
As of 1 January 2025, RCD Espanyol Barcelona has launched a Football Academy in Melbourne. With this opening, further steps are being taken for the club, with over 100 years of experience in grassroots football development, to expand its knowledge and methodology of grassroots football in Australia.
Albert Saus, Head of International Academies at RCD Espanyol, stated: "The success of RCD Espanyol's youth football model is generating growing interest worldwide, reaching further than ever before. This initiative represents a new opportunity to learn, identify talent, and develop business opportunities."
The club will share its renowned training methodology from Barcelona, conduct periodic visits, and assign an official RCDE director to share Espanyol's successful football development model.
