The academy is located in Johannesburg, in one of the most prestigious sports and educational facilities in the country
RCD Espanyol will open a football academy in Johannesburg, the largest and most populous city in South Africa, and in the process become the first LaLiga club to operate a football training centre in the country. The academy, which will open its doors on May 1st, will be aimed at developing and training South African players and coaches, using the philosophy and methodology of RCD Espanyol.
The emergence of this academy in South Africa represents an opportunity for young players, for coaches and for RCD Espanyol. A stable project, it also provides the club with the chance to detect new talent, attract new fans and establish itself further as a global brand, thus expanding its growth and impact.
The project will be carried out together with local partner IBERCUP, experts in the sector and a prestigious entity in South Africa.
