Juvenil A win Under-19s derby 1-3
The team come back from behind against FC Barcelona
The RCD Espanyol Juvenil side won the Under-19s derby against FC Barcelona after overturning their rivals' opening goal with strikes from Lucas Alves, Hugo Burgos and Partera.
Javi Chica's team travelled to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to face a Barça side that arrived top of the table, and they themselves had dropped points in the last two games.
The match started with the home side dominating possession, but their chances were limited. In the 18th minute Rubén Aguilar scored, but saw his goal disallowed due to a dubious offside.
Espanyol continued to be the team closest to scoring, and Partera provided another warning in the 21st minute. However, Barça, practically from their first dangerous chance, made it 1-0 just before the half hour mark.
After the goal, Espanyol tried to quickly recover and continued with the same strategy, although without creating any clear opportunities. That was until a corner kick was enough to equalise just before the break, through Lucas Alves.
In the second half, Espanyol showed more desire than their opponents. Jan Peries and Rubén Aguilar constantly threatened Barça, and the persistence brought rewards: Hugo Burgos made it 1-2 after a pass from Partera in the 70th minute.
With the result in their favour, Espanyol were subdued for a few minutes by Barça, who could have equalised on two occasions, but it was Los Pericos who struck again: Partera turned goal scorer to extend the lead and take a highly positive victory.
