Puado's stunning stats from 2023/24
The goalscorer had a prolific campaign for RCD Espanyol
Javi Puado was one of the main protagonists for RCD Espanyol in the promotion playoffs. He scored three goals that helped take the club back into the Primera División.
Against Sporting de Gijón, at El Molinón, he got the winning goal that proved decisive in the tie. His big afternoon, however, was on June 23rd, when he got a brace against Real Oviedo that helped turn the final around.
Puado's season had started badly due to an injury in a friendly against UD Las Palmas, suffered in a poor challenge by an opposition player. He ended up missing the first two league games, but kicked on from there and finished the season with his best numbers to date: 17 goals (League-Copa del Rey-Playoffs) in 40 games.
Thanks to the goals he scored this season in Cornellà-El Prat, Puado is the third top scorer ever at the RCDE Stadium, with 25 goals, just 2 behind Raúl de Tomás and Sergio García, who lead the ranking with 27 goals.
The striker also reached 45 official goals for the club, and is in the Top 25 of RCD Espanyol's all-time marksmen.
Currently the player in the squad with the most official appearances (176), he is also one of the captains for Los Pericos.
