Positive development
Hernán Pérez believes that the team has improved and is closer to the goals set by Quique Sánchez Flores
Hernán Pérez was the last scorer in 2016. After overcoming an injury that prevented him from playing the derby, the Paraguayan hopes to continue contributing to the team. "I have played many minutes this season, I have scored goals and I have only missed a few games because of injury. I ask 2017 to continue on this line and not have any injuries", he said.
Satisfied in the personal aspect, Hernán Pérez also makes a positive analysis of the team. "We started a bit irregular, but the team has improved a lot since La Liga started. We have to keep growing and stay on top. I think we are more and more like the team wanted by the coach: we are more compact, we receive few goals and we are in a good line of work", he remarked.
One of the worst moments of 2016 was the elimination of the Cup against Alcorcón. Like his teammate José Manuel Jurado, the Paraguayan thinks it should not affect the team. "We lost to FC Barcelona but something that could be expected because it is a complicated match and we had many casualties that prevented us from reaching the best condition. The defeat against Alcorcón is forgotten, it does not affect us and we are very focused on the league. By our mentality and self-esteem we will continue to fight fully in this competition".
