Non-negotiable intensity
Quique Sánchez Flores expects an "uncomfortable and difficult Alavés"
Mendizorroza will host a brave match. RCD Espanyol and Deportivo Alavés will face each other in an equal game because only one point separates both teams. Quique Sánchez Flores warned "Alavés is an uncomfortable and difficult rival and they won on the last fixture. We expect a hard atmosphere. It will be a complicated match and we will have to work hard".
Alavés has just lost one game at home during the championship, it was against Real Madrid, and has got a draw against Atletico Madrid and a victory at Camp Nou. As the white and blue coach said, the Basques are a team "that proposes with the ball but they are also happy counterattacking. When they can have possession, they play with consistency, but if not, they create some danger just running to the spaces”.
Sánchez Flores also explained the key of the match: "Alavés will demand us a lot of second plays and we will have to be competitive. We never negotiate the intensity". In addition, he also recognized his desire to perfect the offensive attack: "We need to consolidate a few aspects like depth and spaciousness. We must insist until the player assimilates the concepts".
