Morón: "We've been improving over these two weeks"
The striker looks forward to the return from the winter break
RCD Espanyol striker Lorén Morón chatted to RCD Espanyol TV this week, ahead of the return to LaLiga action for Los Pericos. A trip to Bilbao on Monday sees the team take on Athletic Club.
"For us players, the international break is useful for disconnecting, and for continuing to improve and correct things that didn't work out for us as we would have liked before the pause in the season. We've had two weeks in which we've been improving, so that this doesn't happen again in our games," said the player who joined last summer.
"We are in good form, because in the first half of the season we were impeccable at home. It speaks well of the team that we've had a dip, in which we haven't got the results that we wanted, and yet we are still ambitious and want to place as high as possible."
Of the game itself, against a team who made it through to the Copa del Rey semi finals in midweek, Morón said that: "We go there knowing how difficult the game will be. Athletic Club have a good dynamic going, but we have the utmost motivation to get points at a very tough ground. It's going to be like a final for us."
"Our away form had previously been almost our achilles heel, but recently it's been the opposite. We want to continue with the good dynamic away from home in Bilbao, because that's what's coming up on Monday."
Still attempting to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI, the forward explains that he has been patiently waiting for his chance.
"I've been welcomed here, and I'm very happy to be here. I struggled a bit to start with, but I'm here to help the team and to do what the coach asks of me. At the end of the day, that's why I'm here. I' always going to be available when needed, and I train hard everyday when waiting for my opportunity."
