Moreno: "Winning this type of game does a lot for you"
The coach builds up the LaLiga derby against FC Barcelona
The day before the derby at the RCDE Stadium against FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol coach Vicente Moreno previewed the game in a pre-match press conference.
"Without a doubt, it's a special game for everyone. We have the responsibility to have a good game, give everything and provide joy for the fans. It's a good antidote to everything. We're going to give our all to win, which would be very good for us. Winning this type of game always does a lot for you," he explained to journalists, before dismissing suggestions that the match at the Camp Nou would be replicated on Sunday.
"The game in the first half of the season is completely different to the one in the second. We will look for an approach that can give us the chance to win the game. In those circumstances and at that time of the season, it was a good approach in the first game, and we deserved to win it."
On potential changes for the derby, Moreno commented that "There are always changes from day to day. You have to be flexible. No scenario is the same as another. You can see in the week that it is a special game."
"We have to leave the players alone, support them and loosen them up. We have the opportunity to win and we're not paying attention to anything else."
Moreno will have Raúl de Tomás, the team's top striker, back available for the derby.
"We don't complain or cry about absentees, but when we have everyone we are a better team and the coach has more chances of getting things right. RDT is our top goalscorer. He tried to score in the first match, because he had a very good game. I can see in his eyes that tomorrow he wants to put that right."
The coach confirmed that David Lopez will not play, adding that "Óscar Gil and Calero are also out. We have Keidi Bare back, and Yangel Herrera is fitter."
"When you plan for a game, you have to take into account the opponents that you have in front of you. We have to try to go and look to create the scenario in which success can occur."
