Moreno: "We had the win within our grasp"
The coach reacts to the draw with FC Barcelona
RCD Espanyol coach Vicente Moreno reacted to his side's 2-2 draw with FC Barcelona in a post-match press conference.
"I'm annoyed because we did many things to deserve the three points today, and we had it within our grasp. If you add to that the face that in the first game we also deserved to win, it annoys you. What we will take away is our performance today. We had the win within reach if stoppage time had been shorter," he lamented.
The Espanyol coach pointed out that "it is difficult to score against Barcelona. We conceded from the first move of the game and from the last. They found two goals from two crosses. These are situations that can be improved. Conceding one makes it difficult for you and two, even more so. It makes me even more angry thinking about how happy the fans would have been with a victory. I really enjoyed the unity, the stadium and seeing how the fans reacted."
Finally, Moreno pointed out that "we need to start winning. There have been previous games that we deserved to win, and we didn't. It takes its toll on you. We know what a derby means and it's a shame that it got away from us."
