Moreno: "We are going to a tough ground against opponents in form"
The RCD Espanyol coach comments ahead of the meeting with Levante
RCD Espanyol coach Vicente Moreno talked about this Saturday's match against Levante in his pre-match press conference, and warned that the bottom-placed side in LaLiga will provide difficulties for his team.
"The form that Levante are currently experiencing and the level of their squad are not reflected in the table. It seems strange to see them in that situation. They have very good players and they have had -and have- good coaches. Football is capricious and, sometimes, when you get into a dynamic, it's hard to get out of it," analysed Moreno.
"They will be difficult opponents. In the first game we need four goals to beat them, and that's not easy. We need to win. We know it won't be easy, because the opponents want the same thing."
On the disparity between results at the RCDE Stadium and on the road, the coach commented that "We try to do the same at home and away. However, teams usually get more points at home. We would like to have achieved better results away from home and we need to win to have good away stats. It is a source of motivation for the next match, where we go to a tough ground against opponents in good form."
"The other day against Getafe, we were very serious in all facets of the game. When the game is over it may seem like it was easier to win, but we had to play very well and the victory was well deserved. Levante are different opponents. They have similar tactics to our previous opponents, but they work in a very different way. Each team requires something unique of you."
Much like for the game against Villarreal, Espanyol will have travelling fans making the trip to the Ciutat de Valencià, as Moreno acknowledges.
"In all facets of life, what has taken you a lot of work to get can be lost on one bad day. I know that many fans will be with us and we want to show them that our intention is to please them. We are going to leave everything out there, so that they have a happy trip home. We play for them. We would like them to always be happy, and that is always easier if you perform well and win games."
