Moreno: "The win is always above all else"
The coach's reaction to a 2-0 win over Getafe
RCD Espanyol coach, Vicente Moreno, talked after the win against Getafe on LaLiga Matchday 27 in his post-match press conference.
“It was very important to win and we are happy about many things. The win is always above all else. We had a good game against good opponents. When you finish the match and win it seems like it's easy, but it's not like that at all," he told the media.
"In the end, it's always the same. You try to win every week. If you don't, you get very down about it. One of our obligations as coaches is not to have too many ups and downs. I'm happy for everyone, but there is no time to think too much about this win. We have to think about the next game, and we have to add more points to the board."
He also remarked that “It is very difficult to subdue the opposition for 90+ minutes. They are not dummies, nor cones; they want to win. We had a very good first half, and in the second half things didn't start the same way, but we took the game into the terrain required. Today we were up against very difficult opponents."
"What drives you is to overcome that barrier of 30 points, which is not a small amount. Comparing ourselves in the first half of the season, against these same teams, we have one point fewer. We deserved to have more points," he concluded.
