José Carlos Lazo signs for RCD Espanyol
Forward becomes eighth summer signing
José Carlos Lazo has joined RCD Espanyol on a long-term deal from UD Almería.
The winger has signed for the club on a five-year deal, as he helps to bolster Diego Martínez’s attacking options. The 26-year-old leaves Almería after three years and pens a deal at the RCDE Stadium until 2027.
Lazo began his career with Real Madrid as a youth player making his professional debut with the club’s B team. After loans to Villarreal B and Recreativo, he signed for Getafe and Lugo on loan before a loan deal to Almería was made permanent in 2020.
Lazo is Espanyol’s eighth signing of the transfer window and the second this week, after Dani Gómez joined the club on Monday. They arrive alongside Joselu, Brian Oliván, Tonny Vilhena, Vinicius Souza, Benjamin Lecomte and Edu Expósito.
Lazo will be presented on Wednesday afternoon in the Juan Segura Palomares Auditorium at the RCDE Stadium.
