Manolo González reflects on the 1-1 draw at home to CD Tenerife

RCD Espanyol coach, Manolo González highlights the difficulty of the late 1-1 draw with CD Tenerife on Saturday.

González said, “Conceding a goal from a set piece in the 90th minute is more of a mistake on my part and that of the coaching staff. It is an unfortunate move, I had asked them not to back down. What made this happen is that we should have gone 2-0 at the end”.

He continued, “The players are not upset, but angry. Although it is a blow, I think it was a vindication: that they know that they can be aggressive, that they can have the ball… We have to continue in that line and put in more crosses, another twist. I know I have little time, but play, aggressiveness and courage must lead us to win games”.
