Quique explains that he was forced to change the plan after the half time

Quique Sánchez Flores finally celebrated his first victory as coach of RCD Espanyol in his field, in front of his supporters. "What I liked the most was the result, the connection with the people, to feel identified with our fans and to be able to win and to add. We must give importance to the team against which we played, because it cost us a lot in the first half and we had to change. It is a victory of great value”, he said.

Sánchez Flores has not dared to classify this victory as a "turning point" although he has acknowledged that the triumph brings "energy and an extra point of spirits. The three points support us as a group and adding positive things makes us better but we are looking for a project that consolidates". In this sense he has indicated that "if we want to be an important team and leave a footprint in LaLiga is a lot. We have a plan, but we need time and we have to consolidate many things. If we were consolidated, in the first half we would have been a better player and we would play the games for a longer time". The technician has said that "we do not change according to the results because we would be unable to progress. We work in accordance with the objective we set ourselves".
