"I am very happy with the performance of the young ones"

Álvaro Vázquez said that the players of the Academy are doing great with the first team

Álvaro Vázquez is one of the players formed in the Academy that currently play for the first team. Despite his youth, he is one of the most experienced players in the blue and white squad. The Catalan striker is not surprised by the performance that young players like Marc Roca, Aarón Martín, Óscar Melendo and Marc Navarro are having with the first team.

"Espanyol never gets tired of bringing young players up to the first team. They go up, play minutes and do it well. We are very happy with the repercussion they are having, but everything has to follow its course. They decide on the pitch how their careers will be", he said.

Asked about his personal situation, Alvaro  remarked that "I have to try to take advantage of my opportunities and I try to do it from the beginning of the season. I try to do my best so that the mister gives me the opportunity. I'm really looking forward to the next game, to have minutes and to win". In this regard, he said that the team is "very excited after the victory at home against a great rival like Sevilla. Málaga, however, is a tough opponent and getting the three points is going to be difficult".

Questioned by his position on the pitch, Álvaro Vázquez has pointed out that "I will play where the coach deems it convenient. In front Sevilla I had to play centre forward and I tried to do my best".
