Herrera: "We are going to compete to the fullest against Real Madrid"
The midfielder is eager to get LaLiga Matchday 34 underway
After the start of a week of training in preparation for the game against Real Madrid, RCD Espanyol's Yangel Herrera talked about the challenge ahead. The Venezuelan emphasised that the team are keen to put a disappointing showing last week against Rayo Vallecano behind them, against the LaLiga leaders.
"We're very unhappy with the last game that we had. We are aware that we weren't at our best level," he acknowledged in conversation with RCD Espanyol TV.
"We need to get that game out of our heads and focus on what lies ahead."
"We are going to compete to the fullest against Real Madrid. We already beat them in the first game against them this season, and we have to go out there and enjoy this game. We want to give the fans something to be happy about, and change the feeling that we left in the last game. We have a beautiful opportunity, a beautiful venue to play in, and we want to compete and enjoy ourselves to the fullest."
"Every weekend we have the opportunity to change things and to bounce back, as well as to get rid of the feeling from the previous game. Our objective for the final five games is to fight to the end for a better spot in the table. A win can take you up a pair of positions, and that should be our mentality: Compete to the end and not get carried away in any game."
