González: "We weren't ourselves"
The coach summarises the loss to Real Valladolid
Manolo González gave an honest assessment of RCD Espanyol's showing in their 1-0 loss to Real Valladolid, stating that "the first half was bad from us in terms of our level of play. Our pressure wasn't there, we had a lack of verticality and were very flat. It is impossible to win like this. In the second half we improved, we had clear chances and more prominence in the game, but the first half was one to forget."
The coach summed up the team's performance by stating clearly that "we were not ourselves. The first half was the opposite of what we did last year. We were an intense team then, and today was the opposite. We let the opposition play."
"These were some of the worst moments since I became Espanyol coach, but in the second half we were better. We had chances and we were more vertical."
