González: "We can still give more"
The coach reacts to the 0-0 draw with CA Osasuna
The 0-0 draw with Osasuna left a bitter taste in RCD Espanyol coach Manolo González's mouth, as he felt his side had done enough to win.
"I felt it would be a close game, in which there would not be too many opportunities, so it was a shame not to take advantage of the chances we had," he said in his post-match press conference.
“We must be an organised team and not give away chances, because that is the direction necessary to achieve our objective. We knew it would be a tough season, so we still have to give more, because it will be difficult. Now we have a game in hand pending, and if we win then it will change the situation in the standings.”
He also joked about the suffering he feels in the games.
“With the situation we are in, this takes years off your life. We have to try to make the team repeat away from home what they transmit here. That would give us peace of mind, not only in terms of the results but also in terms of our image. In any case, the team competed well. All the games that are coming up are important. The slightest error penalises us, so we cannot make mistakes. We still have to win two games in a row and for the players to gain that boost in morale.”
