Gómez: "We have come back with a lot of motivation"

The defender looks ahead to preseason

Sergi Gómez is excited about RCD Espanyol's preseason, and the defender spoke to the media this week about a busy summer ahead.

"We have come with a lot of motivation, and the coach has instilled in the dressing room the level of demand that he expects," he said of the squad and new coach Diego Martínez.
"What he has made clear to us is the intensity that he expects at all times, in every fight for the ball, in every detail. He wants our fans feel represented by the way that we play, and that they go to the stadium to enjoy themselves watching the team."

He insisted that the team “have grasped his ideas very well” and stated that "we want to be ambitious and we want to grow as a team. The coach likes to talk a lot with the players. He tries to make us understand the concepts that he wants to convey to us. The key is that we do this with feeling. We are on the right path to do great things.”
