Gómez: "The squad have come back with great motivation"

The defender talks about preseason so far

The intense second week of preseason has served to increase a positive atmosphere amongst the RCD Espanyol squad. Defender Sergi Gómez spoke about the work being undertaken in a Friday interview following training.

“The feeling in the group is very good. The players have come back with great desire, with great enthusiasm, highly motivated and with a very clear objective. We have to go all-out to achieve it. We in peak form," he stated.

“We want to compete. We know that we have to make the most of these days to perfect the system that we are putting into place, and to compete."

Gómez also pointed out that "these days are useful for cohesion in the group and reinforcing concepts for a season that will be very long and intense. Obviously, we have to start the campaign at our best."
