Gil: "We're going to Bilbao looking to win"
The RCD Espanyol player previews Monday's showdown with Athletic Club
Defender Óscar Gil, who has recovered from the injury that kept him out of action for several weeks, spoke to Espanyol TV about the great confidence in the squad ahead of next Monday's match against Athletic Club.
The full-back stated that the only goal the team have in mind is to achieve victory and end a drop in results.
"We've had a pretty good, demanding week. We've been working hard to reach Monday's game in the best shape possible," he explained.
"The team have always been able to overcome these dips in form. We had one last year, and the group pulled together to get through it. Hard work is important for that. I have full confidence in the group, because we have already shown, both this season and last season, that we can compete against anyone. We are going to Bilbao with the sole idea of getting the victory."
Gil is back in Vicente Moreno's plans after spending several weeks sidelined with a patellar tendon injury, but he is back fit and is more ambitious than ever.
“I'm feeling very well physically and I'm comfortable on the pitch. Little by little I'm picking up minutes and it's time to keep growing. This team can fight to achieve good things," he reiterated.
