Gil: "Three important points are at stake"
The defender talks to the media prior to the game against Mallorca
After the draw that RCD Espanyol achieved last weekend away to Levante, the squad have been working with the intention of claiming another victory on LaLiga Matchday 29 against Mallorca.
Defender Óscar Gil spoke to the media this week, stating that “we want to be as high up the table as possible, and three very important points are at stake in this match."
He stated that "away from home we are lacking the reward that we deserve, but we try to be very competitive in every game."
RCD Mallorca have gotten the better of RCD Espanyol in their two meetings so far this season, but Gil does not believe there is a feeling of wanting 'revenge.'
"More than anything, we have the results in LaLiga and in the Copa del Rey, in which the fans came along to support us and we couldn't give them a victory. Winning this weekend would be us making a statement."
The defender also sent greetings to the Espanyol members and the 'És per tu' association, who have traveled to the Polish border with Ukraine in a solidarity and humanitarian action - which will conclude in the coming days with the arrival of children and families that are part of the temporary reception program.
