Domingo Catoira appointed as new Sporting Director
RCD Espanyol also announce Luis Blanco as caretaker first team coach
RCD Espanyol have appointed Domingo Catoira as Sporting Director of the club. Previously the Technical Secretary, Mr. Catoira will assume the highest position in the sports structure of the institution.
Catoira, a professional with a successful career at national level, will take on the role ahead of his third season at Espanyol, following extensive experience at Valencia CF and Real Valladolid CF.
Club president, Chen Yansheng, and the RCD Espanyol Board of Directors, trust fully in Mr. Catoira to spearhead a new stage for the team, facing new challenges based on the growth plan established for the future. Amongst other priorities, he will be responsible for the selection process for the club's new coach for the 2022/23 season.
Meanwhile, Luis Blanco, current coach of Espanyol B, will take over as first team coach on a caretaker basis, beginning with Saturday's game against Valencia CF.
