Darder: "We are very eager and very motivated"

The midfielder is excited about the imminent start to the season

Sergi Darder took time out from training to talk about the positive summer so far for RCD Espanyol. The midfielder explained that, whilst he is taking nothing for granted, there is excitement amongst the group ahead of the 2022/23 season.

"We mustn't claim victory ahead of time, but we are very eager and very motivated. On a personal level, I feel that I'm at my best, and I'm really looking forward to this season," he stated, as well as acknowledging that he feels prepared for the role as one of the team's captains.

"We have a competitive team with the ability to win, but if any new reinforcements arrive then I'm sure that they will be able to help us. surely they will come to help us.

Everyone is convinced about the work that is being done, and that is the first step to us having a good season."

Finally, on the matter of a possible contract renewal, he commented that both the club and my agents are talking. I am focused on playing every day.”
