Carlos Romero joins on loan

The defender bolsters the RCD Espanyol squad

RCD Espanyol and Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for the signing of Carlos Romero on loan. The defender made his Primera División debut in the 2023/24 season, and can play as both a left-back or wing-back.

Romero began his career at Valencia CF, before moving to Torre Levante, with whom he made his debut with the first team. His performances attracted the attention of Villarreal, who signed him for their Juvenil Division de Honor side. Last season he was used in both the B team and first team, playing a total of 30 games across two divisions.

Having passed his medical on Tuesday at the Clinica Corachan, Romero will be presented next week when the team begin preseason.
