Braithwaite: "We are Espanyol and we have to be in the Primera División"
The striker talks about the playoff final
Martin Braithwaite is focused on victory and promotion for RCD Espanyol in this Sunday's playoff final second leg, which takes place at the Stage Front Stadium.
Speaking on Wednesday in the run-up to the big game, he explained that "We come into this one in very good shape. We are playing at home, it is the final match and we are convinced that we can win it. The only thing we have to focus on is winning. We have to insist on winning and doing things well."
“We know that at home we have been on a good run. It will be a different kind of game. We have to win and that's how we will achieve promotion."
He added that this Sunday's game “is very important. Not only for me, but also for my teammates and all of the Pericos. The team are aware of this. We are Espanyol and we have to be in the Primera División.”
"It's a game that can take us up to LaLiga. No further motivation is needed. It will be very different from the first leg the other day, because the team that play at home have the support of their entire fanbase. We just have to focus on football and on winning the game. You don't have to think about the future right now."
"I don't know how we'll do it, but I do know that, as the club motto says, you have to fight until the end."
