70% increase in audiences for Espanyol Media
The club's audiovisual platform continues to break new ground
Espanyol Media, our audiovisual content generation platform, continues to make steady progress towards its strategic objectives. During preseason, it achieved a significant impact with the broadcasting of RCD Espanyol matches on YouTube. Comparatively, this year the platform achieved a 70% increase in views compared to the 2022/23 season, and an increase of more than 50% in the average audience per match.
In total, nearly 150,000 spectators watched the five matches played by the first team against Girona FC, SD Huesca, Toulouse FC, CE Sabadell and FC Heidenheim, averaging around 30,000 per match.
The most notable game in terms of economic value was that played on August 4th against Toulouse FC, generating almost 40% of the total value of the broadcasts, which reached 320,000 euros. These results confirm the impact of Espanyol Media's digital strategy, which continues to position the club in a prominent spot at a national level within the digital sphere.
During the broadcasts, Espanyol Media offered exclusive content, with the participation of protagonists in the pre-match and post-match coverage, enriching the viewing experience and bringing the club's players and coaches even closer to the viewers.
This approach not only keeps the audience interested in everything surrounding the club, but has also boosted interactions and subscriptions to the YouTube channel, with a 6% increase in followers thanks to exclusive contests and promotions.
These achievements reflect the effort and commitment of the Espanyol Media team, which continues to work to achieve the objectives set out, focused on digital growth and strengthening the RCD Espanyol brand. Whilst last season, in the Segunda División, Espanyol were a point of reference, this term the strategic approach continues to mark our direct and effective connection with fans and expanding our digital presence.
