6-0: Final day defeat
RCD Espanyol B fall to a heavy defeat to CE Europa
RCD Espanyol B fell to a 6-0 defeat to CE Europa on Sunday.
The final game of the Segunda RFEF season brought Javi Chica’s boys to the Nou Sardenya across town, with hosts Europa chasing automatic promotion. Espanyol had the first chance through Rueda after a good piece of play by Bashiru but that would be their best opportunity of the day.
The first half hour was equal until Servetti opened the scoring from a dead ball, then five minutes later, Cano doubled their advantage. Espanyol were not out of it at the break but certainly had work to do if they wanted to end the season on a high.
However, the second half took a turn for the worse for the young pericos. Europa’s possession translated into a third goal, before another dead ball situation brought the fourth. Servette and Adnane added the final goals in the last 20 minutes, leaving Espanyol B well beaten on their final outing of the season.
