5-0: Defeat
RCD Espayol Femení were beaten away to FC Barcelona B Femení
RCD Espanyol Femení fell to a 5-0 defeat away to FC Barcelona B Femení.
In a first half with hardly any chances, Barça dominated and Espanyol looked to take advantage of the spaces at the back. In the last action of the opening 45 minutes Espanyol had a penalty appeal for a handball, but the referee ignored it and blew the whistle for half-time, without even allowing them to take the resulting corner kick.
The second half did not start well at all for Juan Ignacio Ibarra’s side, and within two minutes of the restart they were behind. Barça made it 2-0 a few minutes later, and from then, it became an uphill fight for Espanyol.
Barça continued to frustrate the visitors and the scoreline give them breathing space, as they scored their third and fourth goals in the 78th and 80th minute respectively. On the stroke of the 90th minute, the hosts scored the fifth to condemn Espanyol to a brutal defeat and condemn them to the play-offs for a place in the top flight of Spanish football.
