Baptistao scores in the injury time and makes the draw against Eibar
Today we have lived an incredible match. Espanyol was able to draw a match despite receiving three goals. After a brilliant start and good opportunities to score, the white and blue team received a. Sergi Enrich took advantage of a few defensive mistakes to score the first goal for Eibar. A few minutes later was Diego Reyes who scored on his own goal and before the half time Kike made the third one. It seemed impossible to turned the result but Hernán Pérez, Piatti and Baptistao made the miracle.
Quique Sánches Flores decided to do changes again in his line up to play Eibar. Demichelis and Jurado made their first start of the season and Javi López came back to the team after not playing against Las Palmas. Javi Fuego, Salva Sevilla and Aarón were the players that fell out of the team. Quique’s line up looked good enough to achieve the first victory of the season in the Stadium. However, everything turned out wrong.
Espanyol had the best start of the season. A few minutes after kick off, Jurado had a clear chance thanks to a great assist from Marc Roca but Riesgo made a good save and didn’t concede the goal. A few minutes after was Piatti who missed a clear opportunity after a great play by Baptistao. Espanyol was playing good football, offering a brilliant performance to their fans and fixing a day that was really terrible in Barcelona.
Therefore everything changed in five minutes. After Espanyol’s great start, Eibar began to win some metres on the field. The visitants progressed as the minutes continued advancing and Kike had the first chance for Eibar. Who didn’t miss was Sergi Enrich. The striker took advantage of a few defensive mistakes and scored the first goal of the match. It was hard for Espanyol that didn’t deserve it. But it went worst when Diego Reyes scored on his own goal after a cross ball served by Inui. The stadium went on silence and it got even worst before half time when Kike scored the third for Eibar.
Quique made two changes in the half time: Aarón and Hernán Pérez got in the field. The team didn’t start very well the match but Hernán Pérez gave a bit of hope with a hard long distance shot that Riesgo couldn’t stop. Eibar started losing time and it looked that it was going to be very difficult but Piatti cached a loose ball in the penalty box and score the second goal for Espanyol. The miracle seemed nearer but went Caicedo was sent off nobody thought that Espanyol would be able to save the match. This time, however, the final minutes were awesome and Baptistao, in the injury time, scored the third goal and the draw for Espanyol.
