1-1: Draw at the Dani Jarque
RCD Espanyol Femení held to a 1-1 draw at home by CA Osasuna Femenino
RCD Espanyol Femení played out a 1-1 draw with CA Osasuna Femenino on Saturday.
Espanyol soon took the lead thanks to a great goal from Judit Pablos, who fired it in from long distance to catch the goalkeeper off guard and open the scoring. They looked more likely to score the next goal than opponents Osasuna, going into the half-time break in front at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
The start of the second half was good, but Osasuna soon found the equaliser from a set piece that revitalised the Pamplona side. They could have turned it around were it not for a solid hand from goalkeeper Romane Salvador, which allowed the pericas to settle down and search for the lead again.
There were no shortage of opportunities for both teams, and Espanyol faced two unjust decisions: first when Ángeles was elbowed inside the box to no avail; then the referee blew for full-time prematurely, 15 seconds before the end of stoppage time, despite Espanyol having the ball in the final third.
A point apiece for Espanyol and Osasuna, and there is no choice but to continue working to get the three points again in the hunt for promotion.
