RCD Espanyol B play out a draw with promotion city rivals UE Sant Andreu

RCD Espanyol B earned a solid point in a 1-1 draw away to UE Sant Andreu on Sunday.

The game started with a lot of rhythm and the hosts were pressing, though they founde it difficult to test Javi Chica's team in a dangerous way. Instead it was Sergio Rivarés with the clearest chance of the half for Espanyol but he could not hit the target.

As the minutes passed Espanyol shook off the hosts’ dominance, but in the 34th minute Albertito took a shot from the edge of the area to put Sant Andreu in front before the break. In the second half, Espanyol stepped up and equalised thanks to a great goal from Javi Hernández who, with hardly any space, got through four defenders to convert.

A tight second half ended all square, giving an important away point to Espanyol B at the Estadi Narcís Sala.
