RCD Espanyol B overcome Torrent CF thanks to Marc Jurado's late strike

RCD Espanyol B earned a 1-0 win at home to Torrent CF on Sunday.

Javi Chica’s youngsters had an energetic start to the game, earning three corners in the opening five minutes and piling the pressure on. The danger was constant and the first opportunity did not take long to come. After eleven minutes, Marc Jurado put a low cross behind for Javi Hernández, who was denied by a superb save.

Around half an hour in Gastón Valles also had a clear chance on goal for the opener, but again the visiting goalkeeper kept him out to keep it goalless at half time. The second half was more even, and Torrent managed to have three efforts on goal around the hour mark that almost gave them the lead.

In the last quarter of an hour Espanyol stepped up, and it paid off with 10 minutes left on the clock when Jurado found some space on the edge of the box and smashed it into the roof of the net for an emphatic winner at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
