0-2: Tight defeat
RCD Espanyol are edged out in the final 15 minutes in defeat to CE Andratx
RCD Espanyol B were beaten 2-0 at home by CE Andratx on Sunday.
Both teams were playing fluid football from the start, but after fifteen minutes, Espanyol began to be more dominant. The first clear chance of the game came from a shot by Nene from the edge of the area that resulted in a corner, though that was the closest opportunity to the opener in the first half.
In the second half, Andratx created their first chance in the game straight away but did not threaten after that. Instead, the visitors were comfortable while the young pericos were pushing for all three points. But the match was lost in the space of two minutes, when Andratx took the lead from a rebound and then doubled their lead on the counter.
Espanyol still fought on and driven on by Javi Hernández, who was repeteadly fouled and targeted to no repercussion. Those two late goals were enough for the visitors to snatch the win, leaving Javi Chica’s boys defeated at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque.
