0-0 draw for RCD Espanyol Femenino
The team are held to a stalemate by Real Betis
RCD Espanyol Femenino played out a goalless draw in their away game against Real Betis, despite having the better of the possession and imposing their pace on the contest.
After an early spell in which Betis were strong and enjoyed a couple of good approaches, Espanyol began to take control of the match. Iara had two shots, then Lice Chamorro and Ainoa both had efforts of their own.
Espanyol then took charge completely, and Carol Marín came close to scoring from a free kick, only denied by the woodwork.
The second half had more chances, and Betis began to present some danger in the area. The RCD Espanyol defence reacted to deny Carol when she went into the box.
Lice Chamorro had the clearest chance for the visitors, after a glaring error by the goalkeeper Paula, but was unable to put it away.
Espanyol lost some of their offensive presence in the closing minutes. Carter, in added time, could have snatched the victory, but her shot ended up being cleared by the home team's defence and the game ended goalless.
