“We were not competitive enough”
Luis Miguel Ramis reflects on a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Real Racing Club
Luis Miguel Ramis assumed responsibility for the team’s 2-0 defeat away to Real Racing Club on Saturday.
The men’s first team coach said, “In the end it is the mistakes that cost you to lose the game. I am wrong and I am responsible foe the result. We are a team that, with the ball, have good qualities, but the opposition hurt us and force us to defend. In the Second Division you have to come together, help each other and not make mistakes. With the ball we are not that extraordinarily good, but we are a good team that has been in the top six all season long. Our best are yet to come”.
RCD Espanyol fell to a disappointing defeat at El Sardinero on the weekend, missing the chance to move up the table and keep pace with the automatic promotion contenders. Next up is the visit of CD Mirandés to the Stage Front Stadium on Saturday, where Ramis and Espanyol will search for the three points once again.
Ramis continued, “We are not finding the maximum competitiveness that we need away from home, we are not finding the key nor are we competitive enough. For one reason or another, we do not feel comfortable. You come from not winning away from home and in the first minute we conceded.
“We have to continue working. We are sure that we will achieve what we want. The defeats weigh us down and they must do too for the travelling fans. We feel extremely bad that this is the case and we are aware of that. It hurts me too. Now what we have to do is hear, see, keep quiet and work”.
